If youíre feeling hungry after visiting the Atomium, you might want to check out Thevy, a Thai restaurant on Avenue Houba de Strooper.
The menu has a large selection of food on offer that isnít too expensive. A main dish will cost between 12 and 15 euro. Personally, I thought the 20EUR menu containing a soup, a starter and a main dish was a really good deal. I had the Tom yam kay soup, crispy ravioli and fried chicken with chili and thai basil. If youíre sensitive to spicy food, you better pay attention to the pepper icons on the menu that indicate the spiciness of the dish.
I wasnít able to finish everything and took the rest home for the day after.
Thanks to the restaurantís open kitchen, you can observe how the team of chefs are preparing your food. The red walls are adorned with black shapes that must represent Thai divinities. There's also a large aquarium with real fish and fake jellyfish ;-) (Iíve been observing them: they donít move.) The eyecatcher here is the ceiling that is decorated with a large amount of colorful umbrellas.
It was for celebrating my boyfriendís promotion at work that we went to restaurant Thevy, which in hindsight was not the best setting for the occasion. As the restaurant is large, it quickly becomes rather noisy. The place is absolutely recommended for a convivial lunch with friends, but it's maybe not the best setting for a romantic night out.
Apart from that, the service is good and the waiters are friendly. They checked regularly on us to see if we had everything we needed.
As I mentioned, the restaurant fills up quickly, so itís always safe to make a reservation beforehand. It is also possible to order food for takeaway.
